Security Basics for Activism in a Digital Age
At kakyoproject, we have had few Queer creatives we work with usually seek out support on navigating similar issues of shadow banning online, protecting themselves online etc
This first session will cover: Core Concepts & Tech Terminology, Assessing Risk, Protecting Yourself Online, A practical introduction to VPNs, and Secure Browsing Tutorials (among other topics).
Session two will cover more complex security practices and introduce tools which can be used to record and report data acquired virtually, the third and final phase will concern global movements around digital freedom, threats to digital freedom, and procedural movements which impact digital action from an activist lens.
All three phases will be paired with “fireside chat” sessions which will invite industry experts to guide, support, and answer the questions of participants.
